PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The 5th Gen 4Runner's 4.0L V6 is known for being dependable, but the factory intake does not do much for airflow or sound. SXTH Element built the CPLT Intake specifically for this platform, replacing the restrictive factory inlet path with a large dry-flow filter, molded intake tube, and sealed-style airbox.

On SXTH's Dynojet comparison, the CPLT Intake recorded 10.58 more peak wheel horsepower and 9.68 lb-ft more peak wheel torque than the OEM intake. Those numbers are useful, but the ownership benefit is just as important: your Toyota SUV gets a more noticeable intake note when you get into the throttle without adding the harsh cabin resonance that can make a daily-driven 4Runner tiring on long highway miles.

The integrated Helmholtz resonator is tuned for the 4.0L V6 and targets unwanted resonance around 3,800-4,000 RPM. That makes this a good fit for a 4Runner that sees commuting, trailhead drives, camping trips, and loaded-road-trip duty, not just short pulls around town.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY

This is a complete intake system, not simply a replacement filter. It gives your 4Runner a louder intake sound under throttle, though the resonator is there to keep that sound controlled instead of droning in the cabin.

It uses a dry filter, so there is no filter oil to apply after cleaning. The magnetic lid lets you check or service the filter without disassembling the entire intake. As with any intake, inspect the filter more often if your Toyota truck spends regular time in dusty conditions.

Dyno results reflect SXTH's tested vehicle and conditions. Actual gains can vary with fuel quality, weather, elevation, vehicle condition, and other modifications.
