Fitment Note
Fits 1996-2023 Toyota Tacoma across all three generations (1st, 2nd, and 3rd Gen) and 2000-2006 1st Gen Toyota Tundra. Important: only works with 6-lug models, verify your lug pattern before ordering. 2017+ Tacoma TRD Pro models already sit close to this lift height from the factory, so expect a net rear lift of about 1 inch over stock rather than the full 1.5 inches on those trims specifically. This kit is intended for near-stock weight vehicles, if your Tacoma or Tundra is carrying heavier aftermarket gear (bumper, winch, campers, etc.), ICON recommends their Multi-Rate Rear Leaf Springs (PN 158505) instead for a better match to your load.
Product Specs & Install Notes
- 3-leaf progressive rate Add-A-Leaf kit
- Provides 1.5 inches of lift on a stock weight rear end
- Lowers rear spring rate by approximately 10% for a smoother, more compliant ride
- Includes U-bolts and center pins
- Lifetime guaranteed leaf springs
- Weight: 38 lbs
- Part Number: 51100
This kit installs in place of your factory overload leaf, and that's the whole trick to why it improves ride quality instead of just adding height. Stock overload leaves are stiff and only there for load capacity, which is a big part of why the stock rear end rides so rough unloaded. Swapping that overload for this 3-leaf progressive pack gets you the 1.5 inches of lift while actually softening the ride around 10%, so you're not trading comfort for height.
Install is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic suspension work: common socket wrench, torque wrench, and a cut-off wheel are the tools called out by ICON. Remove the factory overload leaf, bolt in the new pack with the included U-bolts and center pins, torque to spec, done.
Worth flagging honestly: this kit requires recalibration of your ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) after install if your truck is equipped with it, since ride height changes affect radar and camera alignment. Don't skip this step if your Tacoma or Tundra has lane keep assist, adaptive cruise, or similar features.
ICON's warranty covers the original retail purchaser and the vehicle it was originally installed on. It does not cover finish issues, alterations, modifications, or installation that doesn't follow ICON's instructions, and these are not intended for race use.
Add a line upfront distinguishing this from ICON's Multi-Rate Rear Leaf Springs (PN 158505), since that's the correct upgrade path for heavier-loaded trucks and several competitor listings only mention this as a footnote deep in the tech notes. Customers running a loaded-up overland build who land on this listing first are better served knowing immediately they may want the other part instead.
